About Petal

Hello, thank you for stopping by to look at my profile...

I have for the past year had the absolute privilege of taking on many bookings and looking after some wonderful furry friends each with their own character and ways and have found myself wholly responsible for a number of different beautiful properties and pets. I consider it an absolute privilege to be able to build absolute trust with the owners and therefore have sole responsibility for both their home and pet while they are away to give complete peace of mind so they can enjoy their time away but also be assured and receive regular updates that their of their beloved pets wellbeing.

I am very used to setting up initial meet and greet opportunities where for free I spend time with the owners to both meet them and their pets and run through everything necessary to know both about their pets and their home to make sure every 'i' is dotted and every 't' crossed. The first meeting is an initial meeting and if taken further another meeting is set up with a comprehensive list given of everything to do with the household necessary to know and their pet to make sure everything is covered. Easy and available contact with one another is also put in place whilst taking on the booking to keep owners updated but also to be able to ask other questions that may arise in the booking.

I have had the chance to work for some lovely people who I'm glad to say have been happy to provide some good strong references and to look after some beautiful dogs and cats, all of which have had their own characters, ways and individual requirements which I take seriously to carry out and all of which I have thoroughly enjoyed looking after.

My duties have of course included regular walks, feeding, medications if needed, pen times, play times, overall surveillance and constant care and safety of both pets I am looking after and those around me. I want to everything possible to make sure both owners and pets are happy, safe, secure, reassured and able to enjoy whatever they are doing.

I should love to be given the chance to have some more experiences like this so please do get in touch, I am only too happy to help and can certainly provide a number of references if required.

Dogs to me are such a joy and I am passionate about working with them and looking after them in the best possible way!

I have had the opportunity this past year to look after some wonderful dogs, each with their own sweet characters and ways, taking them in the car to enjoy long country walks, swims in the streams (where allowed by the owner), lots of thowing of sticks and balls and generally a lot of fun and exercise as well as constantly looking out for their safety and welfare and taking care around other dogs if needed as well as the occasional bath for the really muddy ones!

During my childhood and teenage I had the privilege of having over five different boxer dogs and two bijon frises. We loved dogs as a family and I certainly learned what it is to love, walk, feed, train and look after our dogs. I would regularly walk them on long stretches of beach with ball and stick or out in the open country side and I was used to the cheeky run away ones too!

A tired, safe, happy dog returning home after great exercise and some fun is of the utmost importance to me. Your precious pet is a loved family member and so I would do everything possible to make sure they were in safe, responsible, trustworthy hands, contactable at all times and responding to messages straight away and regularly updating with new photos too as if I were their owner. I would be happy to offer longer walks if required (up to 2hrs) to make sure your dog has enjoyed really great exercise returning home towelled down, safe, happy, fed and watered (as necessary), and ready for a good sleep! I would make sure I was fully aware of any procedures needed to be taken should they need to visit the local veterinary whilst in my care. I would want to make sure all requirements or stipulations given by the owners are completely adhered to and time managed really well.

I have also looked after some lovely cats too ensuring each one is well fed and on time as prescribed by their owners and sometimes in separate places to ensure each one gets their fair portion! Also some lovely rabbits, one of which liked her regular run around in the morning, sweet guinea pigs and gerbals too with regular food and necessary clearning out of their trays and areas as asked by their owners and regular top up of water.

These lovely experiences also afforded me the opportunity to take some super photos just capturing that special moment, which only you can if you are with them and enjoy observing them like I do. It has been lovely to capture these special moments and send them over to the owner who has enjoyed seeing their beloved pets from time to time carrying a big stick out on a country walk or running at top speed or jumping into a golden barley field on a sunny day or peering behind a leafy tree or capturing a rabbit on its back legs in the sunlight, reassuring the owners that they are happy and well fed, exercised and having fun in my care of them.

As a pet sitter/house sitter it would be great to arrange the necessary meet and greets to get to know your pet before hand also provide total care and attention of your beloved pets providing food, water, cleaning up, as necessary, providing regular toilet breaks and keeping them entertained and happy whilst keeping the owner updated well as required with care plans in place if needed.

Just as I want the pet to enjoy being looked after so it's important to me that the owners enjoy their time away so I want to ensure their home is well looked after, that it's kept clean and nice, especially for the return from your trip, that all bin collections, watering of plants, feeding of birds, lawns kept clean and just general care for the home. From the return of a long flight and journey home, sometimes it's helpful to find fresh milk in the fridge and flowers on the table and these are the little things I like to do.

I would love to have the opportunity to do a good job and work for you to give you complete peace of mind whilte you are away that your pet is safe, happy, entertained, well exercised, well looked after and most importantly very much loved while in my care and I hope I may get the chance !
