About Louise
Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile.
I have approximately 35 year's experience with cats, having always grown up around them, or having them in our family. When I was a little girl, we always had dogs, which I also love, but I have always had a special place in my heart for cats, spending many an hour as a child in neighbours gardens playing with their cats. My nanny used to nickname me 'Cat Woman!'
When I was a little older, we homed a Siamese from the Cats Protection League who was a real character, and I adored her. Her unique oriental personality taught me plenty about this special breed! As an adult, myself and my partner have had numerous cats including a lovely ginger boy (Thomas) that arrived on the doorstep with no owner at 6 months old and lived his whole long and happy life with us. We then homed an elderly lady (Morgan, 17 years old) from Cats Protection who had a very happy sunset to her life spending it laying in front of the fire. We currently have a little girl homed from the RSPCA who is disabled with a deformed front leg and tail, called Peggy-Sue, and a big fluffy Ragdoll boy called Teddy who Peggy-Sue keeps in his place! We also have 2 young kittens that are full of mischief!
I understand the need to know your babies are cared for when you are away and how we all worry about them. They are part of the family, and I know that mine are indeed my babies. I have used catteries in the past but on my last holiday I knew that Peggy in particular wouldn't do well in a cattery and decided to use a cat-sitter. It was the first time I had done so and it was such a positive experience that I would love to be able to offer the same to others, so they can have their holiday or break and not worry that their precious babies are not getting the care and attention they need, and all without the stress of having to transport them to the cattery, or go through the trauma of boarding them. They are in their own home and that keeps all the stress to a minimum.
I am available for visits once/twice a day to feed, fuss, clean litter trays, groom and play. I can pick up your post, draw your curtains, water your plants, feed your fish and turn your lights on/off. I do work full time (locally) so will carry out visits before and after work.
I can send you photos/updates daily if you would like me to.
I have attended and passed a hands on Animal First Aid course for Pet Owners (6 hours).
I have also recently qualified as an Animal Licensing Inspector in line with The Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals)(England) Regulations 2018.
I am also DBS checked.
I will undertake a free meet and greet to ensure you are happy and comfortable with me and so you can ask any questions and we can cover everything we need to and I can meet the kitties and make sure they are content.
I am based in Rochester but happy to cover the Rochester, Chatham and Strood area.
Thank you for taking the time to read my bio. I look forward to hearing from you.
