Hello I’m Rosie. I'm retired and live in the Trinity area of north Edinburgh with Daisy, my beautiful 14 year old silver spot / silver tabby house cat. 

Having had the worry of finding someone reliable to look after Daisy when I was away at the same time as my regular sitter, I decided to become a sitter myself. I now have experience of visiting both cats and hamsters!

Before any booking is confirmed, I will pop round to meet you and your cat(s) to discuss their needs, and make sure we are both happy with the arrangements. I am keen to understand their personalities, their likes and dislikes and their daily routine. I'm happy to administer medication if necessary, so that they are well cared for. I can be very flexible on visiting hours depending on what is preferred: Morning, evening, or maybe a visit during the day when you’re at work.

If you choose me to look after your feline friend, I assure you that I will spend time with them to play and give lots of cuddles (if that’s what they like), whilst also making sure they are well looked after with their food in clean bowls and the litter tray cleaned out. Photos will be sent to you each day with an update.

The areas I cover in Edinburgh are Trinity, New Town, Newhaven and Leith, but I will consider other areas within reasonable distance of Trinity.

For background, I grew up on farm near Durham surrounded by animals, feeding calves and hens and had several cats and dogs until I left home. My favourites were the cats and kittens but I’m confident with any animal, big or small. I owned a hamster for a few years, and I also help out with my friends Cocker Spaniel from time to time. I’m one of those people automatically drawn to stray cats on holiday, usually giving them half of my lunch and can’t resist having a chat with them! 

I took early retirement a few years ago and keep active doing gardening, fitness classes and walking. I love to travel and eat out with friends. I volunteer as a handyperson with Care & Repair Edinburgh, helping elderly and disabled people in their own homes, and I’m also secretary for the residents association where I live. I enjoy meeting new people and through my volunteering am used to visiting a wide range of properties, and also hold a Disclosure Scotland PVG scheme certificate which I’m happy to share with you. 

I’m very caring, trustworthy, practical and reliable and you can be assured that your fur babies and your property will be in good hands. I’m happy to water your house plants or outdoor tubs, or top up bird feeders if needed.
