About Elin
Hello! I’m Elin, and I work at the University of Edinburgh. I have a cat (Toast, a 2yo long-haired menace) and a dog (Jessie, a 3yo springer spaniel). Both of them are rescues from my partner's vet practice. I’m super keen to see all kinds of pets (especially all kinds of cats) - whether it's just quick food visits, hanging out and giving them some fuss, or overnights too. I’ve been pet sitting through Pawshake for around five years now, but very intermittently over the last year as I often have to travel for work.
Pets are not able to stay at my flat due to my own furry friends - but if you'd like, there's a chance that Jessie can come too for weekend dog walks for added play/socialisation. She can be a bit of a scaredy wet wipe at first, but once she gets used to another dog she loves to chase and play fetch. I work full time and I sometimes have my own commitments in the evenings so any pets would need to be okay with spending some time on their own. I'm always keen to meet you and your furry (scaley? feathered?) friend beforehand, to learn a bit about you both and what suits you guys. Please get in touch :)
Summary of services:
- Short overnight stays at your property for pets who need a little more company e.g. if you're away for the weekend and a dog or cat isn't keen on kennels. I would base myself at your property and spend as much time there as possible, however I do work onsite 9-5pm weekdays and cannot work remotely. This is only possible for short trips.
- Home visits for feeding and company of indoor pets, for around 20-45 minutes per visit, depending on the needs of your pet. E.g. if an independent cat would like to be fed and then ignore my existence, I won’t bother them when I’m not wanted.
I’m happy to visit anywhere between the Inch and Old Town once or twice a day - basically to and from my walk to work. Any house sitting during the week must be within a reasonable commuting distance of George Square.
