We always had a family dog when I was growing up. I loved taking them out for walks, brushing them and making sure they were looked after. We had Guinea pigs and other family had cats and rabbits.
I look after my daughter's cavalier called Arthur regularly throughout the year. He comes to me or I go to his home. It is important to keep to his routine and know his likes and dislikes. I live in an area with lovely beach side walks within walking distance and other walks a short car journey away if a change is needed. Another daughter has 2 Aussie shepherds that I looked after for 8 weeks earlier this year. I loved every minute.
My sister has a 5 year old beagle called Sally who I see regularly. She is a rescue so I look forward to having her to stay when she is ready.
I am now retired and have time to look after your dog (s). I can pick up your pet to take for a walk during the week days. I do add an additional fuel charge if I have to drive to pick up and drop off. I am unavailable Friday mornings as I volunteer at a food bank and I have an art class Wednesday afternoon.
My husband and I live in the house. He works from home regularly. I retired in 2022 from my role as a legal director in a law firm. My husband is a civil servant in a senior security role. We have lived in our home for 19 years. Our 27 year old son visits occasionally for short stays. He also loves dogs.
Services;
Medication -
if oral medication is required whilst I am caring for your pet; I can give this. Although, I was a nurse 20 years ago; I would not be able to provide injections.
Dog walking-
I can take two dogs at a time. I have a circular route around Langstone beach. There is a field where I let my daughters dog off lead, but would only do so with your dog if you were happy. This walk is 45 minutes to an hour. I would ensure your home was secure if I picked up your dog and when s/he was returned. I will pick up all mess en route. I can do Wednesday morning until 12 if needed.
Doggy day care on discussion only as below:
At home I have a large garden which is good for running around and sniffing. It has a high fence on two sides and a thick hedge on the other. There is a 6 ft gate which is always locked. I would take your dog(s) out for a 45-60 minute walk and then they would have the run of downstairs and the garden. I have some tennis balls and toys for play time. Tired dogs can sleep on the sofa or floor. I have a food and a water bowl for one dog, but am happy to use yours if you prefer. Your dog would not be left alone and I would abide by any treat or feeding instructions.
