I know from personal experience the challenges of finding the right care for a pet, especially when they are elderly or needing special treatment, so I would like to offer the service that you need. I am happy to accommodate as needed.
I have a 22-year-old daughter who has recently completed a Level 3 Animal Management course at Merrist Wood College, and we offer pet care together. We are able to care for dogs requiring oral medication, those suffering from seizures, or those who are deaf or blind. We have had dogs most of our lives, though we have not had one for the past couple of years.
We live in a house with a good-sized fully fenced garden that has plenty of shade, trees, and interesting places to sniff around in. I am happy for dogs coming for daycare to find their preferred space in the house - kitchen, sofa, or in my study while I’m at my desk are all fine with me, and my daughter would be delighted for your dog to snooze on her bed or be fussed over! Equally, if you have specific house rules about furniture, etc., we'll maintain those while your dog is with us.
For dog walking we generally use the field behind All Saints Church in Lightwater. We will only walk dogs on-lead (your pet’s recall may be great with you, but may not always be so good with someone new!) We only care for one dog at a time (though will take up to 3 dogs if they are all from the same home).
You can also bring other pets to us – we are happy to care for your small reptiles, guinea pigs, rodents, and chickens.
We have a single chicken, but she lives in a secure run and ignores dogs.
Full refund if canceled before 12:00 p.m. one day before the booking, 50% refund afterward.
No refund is payable if the booking is canceled on or after the start date.
Note: All times are based on the sitter’s time zone
Our bouncy black lab had an overnight stay with Julie as a taster session. Bess seemed to be happy to stay when we dropped her off and was obviously happy to see us when we collected her but was in no rush to leave. All positive signs. We will certainly be contacting Julia for more care. It is nice, once again to have somewhere to leave Bess and not worry.
Absolutely amazing service, wonderful personality, left my “fussy” Suzy with Julie for the weekend and got her back happy and relaxed. Julie even managed to make her eat... Suzy doesn’t accept food from anybody else’s but from us... proved, that Suzy’s been treated by Julie as she’s get treated at home: part of the family. Definitely will use her service again. Huge thanks again.
I have been a volunteer in an animal shelter, working both as an adoption councillor and as a foster home for dogs not ready to go up for adoption yet. This has included caring for litters of puppies, pregnant moms, dogs awaiting or convalescing from treatment, and dogs too stressed to cope with the shelter environment. I am able to administer medication or other treatments as required.
