About Amber
Hello my name is Amber and I am passionate, caring and loving towards animals. I have just finished my level 3 diploma in Animal Management with all Distinctions and am currently working as a Patient Care Assistant at a veterinary hospital hoping to go into veterinary nursing. I also have a qualification in dog walking.
I have had work experience in 5 different Veterinary practices within the last 3 years and am very passionate about caring for animals.
During my studies, work experience and job I have worked with all kinds of animals from Dogs and Cats, to Small mammals and Reptiles.
During my progression these past few years I have started to understand how much I love working with animals and love to help others as much as possible.
I love looking after animals and helping other people when they are in need of pet care.
I have personally owned Hamsters, Guinea pigs, Leaf insects and Fish. However I take care of my friends and relatives dogs for long periods of time when they are on holiday and for short sessions when they are out and leaving the dog for 3+ hours.
I would love to have a dog of my own one day but for the time being I really enjoy caring for other peoples dogs and having the opportunity to meet so many different dogs with their own special personality's 🥰
I can administer oral, topical and IM medications. I alter the walk to the dog so they benefit the most from it and we will either go to the local woods, field or park depending on the weather and the requirements of the dog. I can offer at least 1 dog walk session a day depending on my shift at work however I can probably do up to 5-6 walks per day when I'm not working.
At the moment I work 2 days a week so on those days dog sitting and day care would be less flexible as I would not leave a pet for more than 3 hours so it would have to work around my shift hours on that day as they vary.
At the moment I still live with my family so would not feel comfortable offering boarding at this time as it would impact them however things may change in the future depending on the personality of the dog (if I had worked with them for a longer period of time and thought they would be a good fit in my home). This would also depend on the animal (I would happily house a small mammal or reptile in my home if need be but in most cases it's easier and less stressful for them to leave them in their own home and environment. I take the pets needs and comfort into consideration.
I personally gravitate towards smaller breeds of dog as I just seem to click with their personalities no matter how sassy they are! 😂 However I love all dogs and any size and temperament are welcome!
