Hi I’m Rhys, and here’s a little bit about me:
I live in Rochdale with my 2 cats- Spencer & Cynder, and I also have 2 tropical fish tanks consiting of various fish, crustaceans and live plants.
I grew up in a household of animal lovers, and this love of animals has passed to me; I was lucky enough to have loads of different animals growing up from hamsters, guineapigs, cats, dogs and fish.
With this in mind it only made sense for me to be a pet sitter or come to look after your pets as I get to do something that I love and makes me happy, and I understand that pets are more than pets; they are part of
the family and yours will be very well looked after!
My first ever cat was called tinker- the family begged me not to name him this but call it child’s intuition, I took one look at him and knew he would indeed be a little tinker, and low and behold that was mum for
the next 10 years calling the word 'tinker' out the back door to get him in for dinner (much to our neighbours’ amusement).
Unfortunately, towards the end of his life Tinker developed chronic kidney problems and required us administer a table every day. He used to spit out of every type of food and treat we tried to hide his meds in (a typical tinker we used to say!), so in the end we simply had to use our fingers to pop in his mouth and then shut his mouth while massaging his throat to get him to swallow it- this caused many a bite and scratch, but as a result I have become very good at giving medication to cats, and am happy to do the same with your moggy if required.
Thankfully dogs are so much more trusting and will gobble most meds up in their food that you mix in, again just let me know and leave me clear instructions on any meds you will need me to give your pooch.
I've completed dog training courses through The Kennel Club, and also done various volunteer days at dog shelter, and at 6ft2 and 180 pounds I can handle very large muscley enthusiastic dogs with ease and even help them brush up on their training while you're away should you wish :)
I work full time as a business insurance advisor on a split work from home rota.
I will diligently follow your instructions of your pets routines, and would even encourage you to write me up some notes if you wish as getting as much familiarity & routine as possible will benefit your fur babies the most...especially when mum/Dad are away from the house. I will also respect your house and make sure it is as tidy as when you left it!

Rhys is lovely he went above and beyond to make sure our flat and our pets were taken care of and everything couldn’t of asked for anyone better
Rhys has been nothing short of fantastic! From the first time meeting him we could tell he was very caring, compassionate and attentive. Our cats are very shy around strangers and he picked up on all the cues that that was the case; made sure to give them space, approach them slowly, let them have a good sniff. Whilst we were away, he would give us daily videos and updates of the cats. He made sure to give them their space early on and made genuine efforts to help them feel more comfortable with him over time, and to great success. By the end of our holiday, Rhys was able to brush both of them with little to no resistance and give them fuss and reassurance; a feat no other sitter has achieved!
Rhys also did odd favours for us like putting out/taking in the bins, opening and closing blinds and cleaning up the odd hairball. Our girls are notorious for hairballing and being sick when we're away as a stress and anxiety reflex, but they did barely any while they were in Rhys' care, which is a testament to how comfortable they felt around him.
Highly, highly recommend Rhys!
